The lobby of the cabinet meeting at Morecambe Town Hall was well attended with over 40 waiting outside Morecambe town hall at 9.30am. Despite the strength of local opposition to Centros Miller ’s current master plan and conclusions of the White Young Green Report commissioned by the council, the cabinet voted to sign the development agreement with Centros Miller.

There was no debate and it was plain that most of the councillors were totally ignorant of the issues and oblivious to the concerns of the people who elected them to represent their interests, which amounts to a betrayal of trust by these councillors.

Cllr Jon Barry spoke against the development and offered various amendments to the motion but was unable to get his amendments seconded. Councillor Alex Stone spoke for the motion and was seconded by Abbot Bryning and the motion was carried.
