Centros Miller 'Champions'
11 Apr 2006 - An interesting interview with John Laker the managing director of Centros Miller, on the Shopping Centre Magazine website, with a revealing quote:
'If a scheme is going to happen then you need a champion in the council - and that can be either a councillor or an officer'
The interview gives some insight to the Centros Miller perspective on developing market towns among other things. It's Our City are dismayed by the way leader of the council Ian Barker and chief planning officer Andrew Dobson have championed the interests of Centros Miller and ignored the views of Lancaster residents.
It is a matter of record that the council cabinet voted to sign a financial planning delivery agreement with Centros Miller without taking the results of the residents survey carried out by Centros Miller into account despite the survey results being quite apparent many months before the cabinet meeting took place.
