I would just say that I heartily concur with the views expressed by Jasper Neely and W Haslam. Indeed the lack of consultation and the arrogance shown by our elected representatives is mind-boggling.

Like W. Haslam, I too have witnessed what results crass and profit driven City planning can produce. My home City of Bradford had the potential to become a vibrant and attractive City. All the infrastructure was there - magnificent Victorian Markets, an impressive railway station at the heart of the City, winding hilly streets and many other features. Alas, now all gone in the name of progress and profit. Bradford is now a sad and desolate City. Even though many of the buildings were listed, this did not deter the planners. So, good citizens of Lancaster, beware!
