Objecting to Outline Planning Applications

Final Date for Objections: 07-August-08

The three new and one revised planning applications shown on our planning applications page, lodged on 4th July 08 and 27th April 07 respectively, are outline planning applications which means that it is important to identify the issues that you cannot effectively object to at this stage. The reason for this is that five main planning issues (Layout, Scale, Appearance, Access and Landscaping) can be considered at the reserved matters stage. Note however that it is still relevant to object to the other issues such as lack of proper consultation, impact on traffic and air pollution, effects on Lancaster current retail provision, effect on existing city centre, lack of community facilities and demolition of historic buildings, .

The table below summarizes the reserved matters relevant to the current planning applications but you may find it useful to have a look at these two short documents first.

07/00602/OUT 27/04/07 Office and small retail development on Land East Of Golden Lion Moor Lane Lancaster Lancashire Seeks approval for the means of access to the site from Moor Lane together with the layout of the proposed building. Scale, landscaping and appearance are to be the subject of reserved matters. Note that this is also a standalone development. This means that if Centros get outline permission they can continue with the development process whatever happens to the main application for the Canal Corridor North site.
08/00864/OUT 04/07/08 Residential development at Junction Of Alfred Street And St Leonards Gate Permission is sought for the means of access to the site. Scale, layout, appearance and landscaping are reserved matters. Like the application above, this is also a standalone application.
08/00865/OUT 04/07/08 Residential development at Part Of Heron Chemical Works Site Moor Lane Permission is sought for the means of access to the site. Scale, layout, appearance and landscaping are reserved matters. Like the two previous applications above, this is a standalone application.
